Welcome!
Swedish Association New Zealand was formed in 1989 and is a small but active society for the Swedes and friends who live in and around Auckland.
Through the association we want to give our members the opportunity to:
* speak Swedish
* get in touch with other Swedes in the area
* maintain Swedish traditions, Swedish culture and share experiences
* meet and eat Swedish food, like our popular Yellow Pea soup evening
We meet 4-5 times a year at major events to celebrate Lucia, Midsummer, National Day etc, but also every now and then for example to go and see Swedish films or lectures.
Parents of young children meet regularly to give their children the opportunity to hear and speak Swedish. In addition, we have Swedish school for older children that are held for 2 hours each week after normal school hours.
All members receive our news letter "Gul & Blå" which comes out approximately every two months and that has become an important voice for us Swedes here.
SCANDINAVIAN CHRISTMAS MARKET

Scandinavian Julemarked (Christmas Market)
Sunday 6th November
between 10am and 4pm
Danish House, 6 Rockridge Avenue, Penrose.
If you are interested in hiring a table to sell Swedish products, handicraft, homebaking, child clothes, toys, books etc please advise us soon on

There are only a few tables left!!
Svenska Föreningen will also have a table at the Christmas Market with information about Sweden and offer some of Sweden...
We hope for the same amount of people as the Swiss Market had earlier this year :)
